Man the orders are streaming in! I am stoked. Thanks to all who have been ordering boards. Please check out my TK Hawaii Surfboards Facebook page. I am posting more news and pictures on Facebook than on the site, so check it out! Click on the above link to go!
Ready for a new board for winter? Orders have been coming in steady for all types of shapes. Shortboards seem to be in highest demand as well as high performance longboards. In this economy, surf shops throughout the country are keeping a lower inventory of boards, so ordering a custom board is the way to go. You get what you want at a fair price. Please contact Scott at Hilo Surfboard Co. or feel free to get in touch with me through my contact page with any questions. Have a great Christmas season.

I can't beleive its September already. We had some great South swells here in Hawaii this year and a couple good hurricane swells too! I enjoyed seeing everyone on the Outer Banks during my shaping trip back in June. Man time flies. I have been shaping all kinds of boards this summer, especially little round nose things in the 5'5" to 5'10" zone. The Ahi Fish is still hands down my #1 seller, but I am looking forward to winter. I can already see a change in orders. Did a 7'4" gun last week along with a 6'4" step-up and 6'8" semi gun, so folks are getting ready for winter.
TK teamrider and New Jersey ripper Brittney took first place in the 2009 ESA Northeast Regional Championships in Junior Womens division. In 2007 and 2008 she won the girls divisions also. Congratulations Britt from your TK Ohana here in Hawaii!
I have a tentative plan to come and shape at Gale Force Glassing at the end of this month. If you want to get a custom TK board shaped and glassed on the Outer Banks, please contact me ASAP. No waiting for shipping etc. I am looking at about 8-10 days, so order turnaround should be quick. This will be an all work no play (well maybe a little) trip. My glasser here in Hawaii will be on vacation for 2 weeks, and I also have some personal business in Va. , so I figured it would be good timing. Looking forward to hearing from you guys. Thanks,
Ted

Probably a nice hot pot of coffee after a surf too! Looking forward to a long relationship and hope to visit soon. Aloha..TK

Set -up started this weekend and my materials arrive on Tuesday, so we should be up and running by the end of the week. A big thanks goes out to Tellus Fix, Israel Granier, and Brian Hill for all the kokua getting this project done.
After wining her first round heat and going straight to the finals, TK Hawaii team ripper Brittney Hickey takes 4th place in girls division in this years Easterns. And to top it off, Brit was selected(and well deserved I might add) for he 2009 ESA All-Star Team. Great job Brit!!! Off to the Rip Curl Grom Search Championships at Salt Creek, CA in November. Not only is she competing in 16 and under Girls, but also the 14 and under Boys division. Watch out guys! Aloha.....
TK team trider, 14 Year old Brittney Hickey, placed 2nd in Womens Pro division this past weekend at the Belmar Pro, missing 1st place by 4/10 of a point. Great job Brit, keep it up! Next week, look for updates on Brittneys performance at this years Easterns in Cape Hatteras.
TK Hawaii is excited to announce that the new shop is almost finished! Only a few more finishing touches and I hope to be set up in about 2 weeks. If you have been waiting to place an order, go ahead and do it cuz I'm going to get busy fast. TK Hawaii will be bringing Shad Williams on board as laminator. Shad has worked for Stretch, M10, Pearson Arrow and other Santa Cruz craftsman. Looking forward to building some great boards!!
TK is stoked to report that teamrider Brittney Hickey dominated the Jr. Womens Division at this years ECSC, winning all her heats. In the final, she was scoring 8's and 9's. Tell me this phenom of a grom isn't just tearing it up! Brit has blazed a trail of wins starting in Montauk this spring, and will finish in Hatteras this September at the ESA Eastern Surfing Championships. Then its westward to Salt Creek, Ca. for the Rip Curl Grom Search Chapionships. If you are wondering what she is winning on, Britt rides a 5'7" and 5'8", both 17.5 wide, 2" thick with super thin, sensitive rails and plenty tail bend for this size of board. She runs O'Fish'L TPgrom 2x fins. Her small wave board is a 5'5' x 18" x 2" 'Ahi fish. Great job Brittney!!
TK Hawaii team rider Brittney Hickey won both Girls 16 and under and Boys 14 and under division in yesterdays Rip Curl Grom Search held at Seaside Park, NJ. A few weeks ago Britt also won Girls and Boys divisions in the Quicksilver King of the Groms. In between all this she again won Girls division in the Chip Miller Foundation contest, placing 4th in boys. Brittney has a bright future ahead of her, and I look forward to keep making her high performance contest boards. She just got her new quiver in July, the first boards I have shipped to the east coast from Hawaii. Guess they are working good for her. Keep up the good work Brittney!!
I just received a box of new T-Shirts and stickers. I hope to have a page up soon with products for sale. Shirts are $22.00 including shipping. Stickers are $2.50. Call or e-mail me if you would like to place an order.
South Jersey supergirl Brittney Hickey won her 2nd consecutive ESA Northeast Regional Championship this past weekend. Brit is one mean wahine. I know she can't wait to get to the 2008 Easterns in Hatteras and do some damage . After a close 2nd to a seasoned competitor in 2007, I know Brittney has an Easterns win in her sights. So watch out ladies. Congrats to you Brit from the TK Hawaii team here on the Big Island! Oh yeah, she also won womens longboard and placed 2nd in menehune bodyboard. Ironwoman or what!

I can ship boards back to the mainland on FEDEX.I shipped over 100 boards to Hawaii last year, so if you want a board please don't hesitate to call/e-mail because of shipping concerns. I will ship direct to Gale Force Glassing for anyone who wants to pick their boards from Rascoe. You can also stop by and order a TK direct from Rascoe and he will fax the order to me.
We finally made it to Hawaii after working hard to get here. It will be a little while until I get up and running, but please don't hesitate to e-mail orders or questions. My new # is 808-854-9467. Sorry about the lame updates on the news page, but I have been quite overwhelmed for the last few months. Not even sure if anyone reads this news page. If you do, please e-mail me and let me know what you are up to. I will be making a bunch of changes to the site, especially the board pics and team pages. Also plan to add a slide show gallery similar to surfkdh.com. That will feature board pics and team surf shots and other interesting items. Also thinking of a products page with T-shirts, hats, stickers etc. for sale. Please let me know what you think (again, if anyone reads this). Thanks to the Big Island Eastside ohana for the aloha they have shown Tanya and myself over the past few weeks, including Scott Murray at Hilo Surfboard Co. , Lloyd and Koa Enriquez and all the Uncles down at Pohoiki. Also a stoked to have Water Safety pros Topo and Nohea down at Shacks.
